You may assume Morocco to be just another sun soaked
tourist area but you may be surprised to learn that
it offers superb hunting opportunities especially for
wing shooting and wild boar.
We have access to over 30,000 hectares of hunting range
in the Atlas Mountains at altitudes of 1600 to 4500
feet above sea level and at lower levels around the
town of Afourer. The Atlas Mountains hold healthy numbers
of wild boar which being a pig derivative is not hunted
for food by the local Moslem population. The solitude
of the mountains and a plentiful food source promotes
large boars with an average tusk length of 8 inches
though some can reach 11 inches. The hunts take the
form of very well organised drives employing large numbers
of beaters and dogs to flush the game from the bushes
towards the guns which are strategically placed in pre-determined
hides.
The Atlas mountains are also the home to large numbers
of Moroccan Stone Partridge, having arrived by Jeep
you will be able to hunt all day on foot as small drives
are organised to lift the birds which over-fly the guns
at great speed.
The flat land around the town of Beni Mellal offers
excellent Quail shooting, our agents keep Pointer dogs
to ensure a plentiful supply of birds for day long sport
but you will need to be on top form with quick reactions
for this fast flying bird. You may wish to combine the
frantic Quail shoot with a more relaxed target, the
local fields and plantations support large numbers of
Dove.
Morocco is the ideal location for a family holiday,
while you follow your sport your family can enjoy many
alternative activities including, hiking, horse riding,
jeep safaris or just relaxing in the sun. You will be
accommodated in a luxury four star hotel owned by our
Austrian partner ensuring the best of Europe amidst
Moroccan culture all under the warm North African Sun.
